Hotel in Front of the lagoon

The hotel overlooks the Vecellio “Fondamenta Nove”, the long promenade on the north side of Venice. From the windows you can see that part of the lagoon to the north, from which the boats that connect the city to the islands of Murano Burano Torcello, Mazzorbo. The open space allows us to see the whole of the Alps, and on clear days, the mountains seem to be uplifted directly from the edge of the lagoon.

L ‘Hotel was once home of the pictorial genius of the Venetian ’500, which takes its name, Tiziano Vecellio. Perhaps the chance to explore with his eyes on his beloved Dolomites of Cadore, where he was born and then left in his youth to come to Venice, urged him to seek residence here. In his well-kept garden, holding meetings and symposia with the cultural “literati” of the time, like Aretino, Bembo, Sansovino.

One of these, speaking of ‘beautiful place, wrote :”nella estrema parte di Vinegia, Sopra il mare, là onde si risguarda la vaga isoletta di Murano, ed altri luoghi bellissimi”.
